Issue with AnyList Skill for Amazon Alexa Outside the United States
Updated Oct 14, 2024
Due to changes made by Amazon on July 1, you now need to include phrases such as “ask AnyList” or “tell AnyList” in your Alexa commands. You can learn more about this change here.
However, Amazon is working to address issues with Alexa recognizing the new “ask AnyList” and “tell AnyList” in some locations.
Please select your country below for more details about the current state of the AnyList skill in your region.
Canada
The “ask/tell AnyList” commands should be working in Canada.
If these commands are not working for you, please try disabling and re-enabling the AnyList skill in the Alexa app.
If you continue to have trouble, please contact us.
Mexico
Amazon has made some changes to improve recognition of the “ask AnyList” and “tell AnyList” commands in Spanish.
You should be able to give a command like “Alexa, dile a AnyList que agregue ITEM a LIST”. Or if you set a default list you can say “Alexa, dile a AnyList que agregue ITEM”.
If that command is not working for you, please try disabling and re-enabling the AnyList skill in the Alexa app.
If you continue to have trouble, please contact us.
France
Amazon is still working on issues with Alexa recognizing commands for our skill in French.
We do not currently have an ETA from Amazon on when French will be supported, but we’ll post an update as soon as we have additional information.
Germany
Amazon has made some changes for our skill in Germany, but unfortunately it is not yet 100% reliable.
The command “Alexa, frage AnyList, füge ITEM zu LIST hinzu” is working for some people, but not others.
If that command is not working for you, please try disabling and re-enabling the AnyList skill in the Alexa app.
You can also try the command “Alexa, Öffne AnyList und füge ITEM zu LIST hinzu” or if you set a default list you can say “Alexa, Öffne AnyList und füge ITEM hinzu”.
We’ll post an update if Amazon makes any additional changes to the German skill.
