Issue with AnyList Skill for Amazon Alexa Outside the United States
Due to changes made by Amazon on July 1, you now need to include phrases such as “ask AnyList” or “tell AnyList” in your Alexa commands. You can learn more about this change here.
However, there is currently an issue with Alexa recognizing the new “ask AnyList” and “tell AnyList” commands outside the United States, even though the command “open AnyList” works.
We’ve reached out to Amazon about the issue, and they are looking into it.
One thing that would help Amazon debug the issue is having a few “activity keys” for the commands that fail.
We’ve sent a sufficient number of activity keys to Amazon for customers in the UK, Germany, and Spain.
However, if you’re located in a country not listed above, and able to follow these steps to provide the activity key for the command “ask AnyList to add apples” in your language, that would be extremely helpful.
In addition to the activity key, please also let us know:
- the exact command you gave to Alexa
- Amazon’s transcription of your command (if it didn’t match your spoken command)
- Alexa’s response to your command
You can send the activity key and other details to team@anylist.com.
If the instructions for retrieving activity keys are too technical, please don’t worry about it.
Thank you for your continued support, and we will post a notice in the app once the issue is resolved.
