How do I disable and re-enable the AnyList skill for Amazon Alexa?
If commands like “Alexa, tell AnyList to add ITEM to LIST NAME” are not adding items to AnyList, this likely means Amazon has not automatically updated the skill for your account yet.
In that case, you can try disabling and re-enabling the AnyList skill to get things working.
To disable the skill:
-
Launch the Amazon Alexa app on your phone.
-
Select the More tab at the bottom, then tap on Skills & Games.
-
Search for the AnyList skill, then tap to open it.
-
Tap on the Settings button.
-
Scroll down and tap on Disable Skill.
Step-by-step screenshots for disabling the skill can be found here.
To re-enable the skill:
-
Once you’ve disabled the skill, tap on the Enable to Use button, then follow the steps to sign in to your AnyList account.
-
Go back to the AnyList app, and make one or more lists available to Alexa by following these steps.
Step-by-step screenshots for enabling the skill can be found here.
Once you’ve done all of that, you should be able to say: “Alexa, tell AnyList to add ITEM to LIST NAME”.
